Today’s generation of sneakers are cool and all but sometimes you need a blast from the past in order to remind you how the styles of today got to where they are.

After a 30+ year vacation, the adidas ZX9000 is back. And based on its bright beachwear colors, it must have been somewhere nice and warm. With a strong mix of textiles/materials, bold use of color, and perfectly proportioned layers including that instantly recognizable ’80s cushioning in the midsole, the 9000s have been out of the picture for a minute but something tells me they are here to stay this time around.
