The brainchild of designer Hardy Blechman, Maharishi has produced its award winning pacifist military designs since 1994.  The roots of Maharishi, and offshoot label MHI, lay in Blechman’s former career in the military surplus clothing trade, which inspired Blechman to take the concept of repurposing to a new level.

In celebration of the Lunar New Year for 2021, Maharishi pays tribute to the second animal in the zodiac cycle – the ox. This printed organic cotton T Shirt draws inspiration from Yōkai folklore of western Japan, highlighting the bovine-headed demon known as the Ushi-Oni and Edo period artist Sūshi Sawaki. The creature is depicted with an ox’s head attached to a spider-like torso, with six legs and long singular claws.
