Having previously worked with one of the most iconic offerings in the New Balance catalog, the 990, cult favorites Stray Rats turn their attention to a somewhat lesser known slice of New Balance history, the 827. Recently resurrected with great fanfare, this 1997 runner features a unique design that brings millennium informed boldness to classic New Balance style.

Stray Rats put a cultural and literal ‘underground’ stamp on the lightweight mesh/suede overlay technical silhouette with the 827 Sewer Stomper. The only traces of the bright colors found on traditionally athletic designs are red and blue ‘N’ branding and red rope laces. The Sewer Stompers are otherwise dominated by earth tones, as a brown upper and green toned midsole aren’t just proudly off the beaten path; they aren’t afraid to get into the muck with all the other rodents.
