Created in 1949 to give basketball players the footwear they needed to excel at the highest level, PRO-Keds were a mainstay in the sport during its most formative days and dominated for decades. During this time, some styles stuck while others quietly, if not unknowingly, retreated to the archives, waiting for the zeitgeist to catch up.
The Sky Hawk Lo is one of these styles, making its debut in the early 1980s before disappearing off the face of the court. But that’s all about to change. Being taken out of retirement with a career full of potential left in the tank, the Sky Hawk Lo is back for the first time since its initial release.
Marking its return to the roster, PRO-Keds has teamed up with the NBA and international basketball publication, Franchise, to create a new-school take on what will surely be a starting 5 contender. Featuring a suede, tumbled nubuck, and leather upper with nylon padded tongue, pebbled midsole, and treaded outsole, the understated white, gray, and cream colorway only adds to the lore of this resurrected classic design.
