Undercover’s Spring/Summer 2020 deals in a  black dominant, infusion of minimalism. The scaled back aesthetic serves as the backdrop for an exploration of man’s underlying dark and violent impulses, exemplified by the Dylan Thomas quote I hold a beast, an angel and a madman in me, that features on a number of pieces in the collection. A balancing scale that teeters between acknowledgment and celebration of these typically suppressed depths, Takahashi dresses them up in an almost confrontational elegance, in true Sympathy for the Devil fashion.
