Imran Potato is a designer and arguably a conceptual artist, making what he likes when he likes. From an inflatable baby wearing Gucci that he set up in NYC to double denim outfits emblazoned with the Louis Vuitton motif and worn by the biggest pop stars in the world, Potato is bigger and more bootlegged than ever.  And although his designs are controversial, his subverted,  humorous vision has shown the fashion world some of its most coveted symbols in a brand new context – which is arguably just as relevant as creating the actual symbols.

In his first collection with Vault by Vans, the young creative who recently made a pair of footwear that looks like you’re barefoot, brought his A game while reimagining the KNU SKOOL VR3 LX & SK8-HI® VR3 LX.

The KNU SKOOL VR3 LX pays homage to the early ‘90s skate-inspired footwear silhouette the brand first debuted in 1998 and later re-released via Vans Japan exclusively. For its latest iteration, Imran has taken the oversized DNA and further exaggerated its design specs to include all-over suede uppers with contrast stitching along with a quintessential 3D Sidestripe that protrudes from the quarter-panel.
