Before the only obstacle between listeners and an entire universe of new music was the time it takes to enter text into a search bar, getting your hands on music that existed outside of whatever commercial radio and MTV deemed profitable this quarter was a whole process. You would have to find out about it from somehwere, then you would have to find a store that actually sold it. The creation and support of the myraid, under the radar musical subcultures that once existed was, legitimately, something that took real work. (You might see where this is going, as it relates to Carhartt W.I.P.) 

Naturally, where you find work, you’ll find Carhartt. As part of the Carhartt Work In Progress Radio project, Carhartt W.I.P. has launched Relevant Parties, a podcast series dedicated to celebrating the work and legacy of some of music’s groundbreaking, influential indepedent labels. 

The Relevant Parties Volume 1 capsule pays tribute to these pioneering creators, with a limited edition series of graphic tees, hoodies, sweatshirts and mixtapes, featuring New York’s DFA and Ghostly International, Tokyo based Jazzy Sport, the UK’s Ninja Tune, Munich imprint Public Possession, and L.A. tastemakers Stones Throw.
