Lyon, France is, typically, not the first location that springs to mind as a particular hotbed of streetwear. The city is, however, renowned as a culinary mecca, with some commenters going so far as to call Lyon the gastronomic capital of the world. 

Fitting then, that Lyon’s contribution to streetwear is informed by its rich culinary tradition. Reception’s Autumn/Winter 2020 collection is inspired by the idea of travel as a kind of spiritual liberation. The classic American West road trip provides an aesthetic focal point, with Jack Kerouac’s influential, semi-autobiographical novel The Dharma Bums and a 2019 trip to Los Angeles by the Reception crew serving as recurring motifs.
