As the emergent, so-called, yuppies of the 1980s began to follow in the footsteps of their leisure class forerunners, and discover the joys of life in the country, a space in the running shoe marketplace opened up for off-road equipped models. New Balance responded with the ‘5’ series, which produced some of the most iconic silhouettes ever to sport the famous ‘N’ logo. 

A new, Made in England edition of the 577 demonstrates the stylistic versatility that made the 5 series not just a hit with runners, but a cornerstone of the entire casual sportswear aesthetic. The classic, leather, mesh and pigskin suede upper appears  in a mix of grey, cream, black, blue and black.
