Carhartt made their name by providing work garments for heavy industry. We’re talking molten steel, chainsaws, railroad spikes, arc welders type of heavy industry. The rugged durability and simple, utilitarian aesthetic made Carhartt a hit beyond the world of hard hats and lunch pails.

In the 1980s, denim entrepreneur Edwin Faeh began importing and expanding Carhartt to Europe. Ultimately, in 1996, he struck a major deal to manufacture Carhartt branded clothing outside of the United States under the name Carhartt ‘Work In Progress’. The W.I.P. label takes the traditional Carhartt approach to construction and form, and applies it to a range of fashion oriented garments and accessories, incorporating European-inspired designs with long-standing, renowned styles. Although the tailoring may have downtown in mind, the quality remains pure job site.

The Hooded Chase Jacket is constructed from a 13 oz cotton-polyester blend and brushed for extra softness and warmth without losing breathability. The garment also features raglan sleeves with flatlock stitching, a front zipper and a kangaroo pocket.
