The state of the world over the past year-plus has upended everything from mundane daily routines to the very conceptions of what ‘normal’ looks like. Engineered Garments have not been exempted from this disruption, as some of their defining features: meticulous tailoring and tactical inspired functionality for the on-the-go world traveler, have been hamstrung by the necessity of staying home.

This season, EG founder Daiki Suzuki steps back from the signature zippers, pockets and hidden compartments that have come to define his style over the past two decades.

Looking toward a mix of world textiles, Suzuki now turns his attention to décontracté, a French term expressing poise through comfort and relaxation. From Indian florals to madras and Breton stripes, polyester twills and nylon-cotton blends, Suzuki’s 2021 line is fashioned for comfort, with more relaxed fits and less rigid designs.
