Joe Freshgoods and employee-led New Balance community Black Soles have teamed up to organize “Conversations Amongst Us”, a collaborative collection of apparel and footwear that stands for so much more than the final product.

With the goal of honoring the Black community throughout the year, the pieces were designed to highlight the importance of sparking conversations and new dialogues through expression.

Wanting to approach the project ‘from a different lens from how brands usually celebrate and spotlight Black people’, Joe made sure Black Soles, whose focus is increasing representation and amplifying Black voices in the footwear industry, was involved in each step of the process from design to communication.
