Korean streetwear brand thisisneverthat teams up with New Balance for their third collaboration, this time taking on the 827. First introduced in 1997, the chunky, colorful, mixed-material silhouette from New Balance boasted yet another elite running shoe for the brand. It wasn’t long, however, that the style faded into the background and seemed all but forgotten. 

That all changed this year as some of the most cutting edge names in fashion announced new collaborations and creative updates centered around the style. Aimé Leon Dore led the pack last month releasing three boisterous multicolored updates of the 90’s rarity.

This week, thisisneverthat presents their own take on the silhouette— a vastly different presentation with two casual, less flashy colorways. With a camel-like tan and a tonal black, these 827s are fit for the path and the trail. With a combination of premium suede and breathable leather, thisisneverthat’s offering also comes equipped with rope laces and 3M accents for a more rugged, outdoorsy, all-terrain look.
