The brainchild of designer Hardy Blechman, Maharishi has produced its award-winning pacifist military designs since 1994.  The roots of Maharishi, and offshoot label MHI, lay in Blechman’s former career in the military surplus clothing trade, which inspired Blechman to take the concept of repurposing to a new level.

This lightweight shirt is constructed from a textured crushed hemp  and features a tonal music script embroidery inspired by Tibetan musical notations and the Maha Fine Tailor company’s expansion into the region.

A lightweight and textured fabric that has been garment dyed for a soft, worn feel. Hemp is celebrated for its strength and natural resilience to pests – requiring no pesticides. One of the most versatile and renewable of all our natural resources, it has the ability to grow in almost any climate, like a weed. After harvesting, the hemp plant leaves long root systems that enrich the surrounding soil.
