The brainchild of designer Hardy Blechman, Maharishi has produced its award winning pacifist military designs since 1994. The roots of Maharishi, and offshoot label MHI, lay in Blechman’s former career in the military surplus clothing trade, which inspired Blechman to take the concept of repurposing to a new level.
This embroidered Mil Shirt, made from and eco friendly cellulose twill pays respect to the Montagnard mountain tribes and their Story Cloths. The intricate tapestries that tell violent stories of the Hmong people during the Vietnam War have been reworked to show scenes of peace, love and unity between soldiers, villagers, humans and animals.
