What is there to say about the Jordan that started it all? Revolutionary? Icon? Legend? They’ve all been said, but they’re all true. 

Even with the 6 NBA titles, countless individual awards, and greatest of all time status still to come, the moment Michael Jordan stepped onto an NBA court wearing Jordan 1s for the first time, everything changed. The violation of the NBA uniform code and “banned” status only made them more cool in the eyes of the public. 

The Air Jordan 1 ‘Royal’ wasn’t part of MJ’s on-court repertoire, but the colorway still exists in the rarified air that comes with being a 1985 Jordan 1 original.  This modern reissue tweaks some details. The eyestays are rendered in royal blue instead of black, along with the Jumpman logos at the tongue and sockliner. Countering the upper’s additional blue is the outsole, which is outfitted in black.
