The adidas iconic Superstar silhouette has remained largely unchanged since its inception back in 1969. While it’s seen various colorways and intriguing mashups like the “Superstan” which combined the Superstar with the Stan Smith, the basic makeup of the Three Star classic has remained the same… until now. 

Styled by Pharrell Williams, the Superstar Primeknit not only substitutes adidas’s technological advanced material for its traditional leather makeup, but the shoe also foregoes the signature 3 stripes and shell-toe as well. Co-branded, the words “Human Race” appear on the heel with “ADIDAS” on the tongue.

While the silhouette is still reminiscent of the OG design, Pharrell’s iteration and bold alterations are anything but subtle.
